I did this unit last year but just found pictures of it, so I figured I'd add them to my site.
This is a factory painted Kato AC4400 that I took, dismanted and removed the stock road number on and renumbered to UP 5830.
Some of the additions include new grab irons to replace the plastic Kato ones, small GPS dome, wind deflectors, Details West horn, and Kadee 58 couplers.
The factory paint was matched and touched up. Parts like MU hoses and wheelsets were detail painted. A thin wash of Floquil grimy black was flooded into the grilles to give some depth. The model was reclearcoated to protect the new paint and to blend all of the paint in. From there the model was reassembled and tested.
